Optimum Channels Have Returned!
Thursday August 21, 2025 Optimum had adjusted their channels and had moved their local public access channels from the 75-80 block to the 1300s block. LMC Media was one of many access stations that had their channel lineups changed. Back at the end of August, Optimum had acknowledged the concerns raised and issued the following statement:
“Optimum did recently relocate Public, Education & Government (PEG) channels to new channel positions within our TV lineups to place all PEG content within a dedicated and easily accessible channel block. We understand that this transition has been challenging for stakeholders and appreciate the continued dialogue and feedback we have received.
We value the perspectives from our municipal partners and have taken the feedback seriously. In response, Optimum will be delaying the change in positioning of these PEG channels and is actively working to move them to their original locations. We anticipate this process to take effect within the next month [September].
The Company will continue to review its channel lineups on an ongoing basis to ensure they reflect a balance between customer needs, operational considerations, and the evolving TV programming landscape. As part of this commitment, we will enhance communication with stakeholders regarding any future changes to PEG channel placement.”
We can now say that as of yesterday, Thursday, September 18 these channels have been restored! It may take some time for these channels to return to all households and in the interim some channels may be out of place. Please stay tuned as we reconfigure everything. Once all is restored the channels will be listed as follows:
75 – Public channel
76 – Municipal channel
77 – Import & Education
As of Thursday August 21, 2025 Optimum has adjusted its channel lineup to better “enhance [Optimum] customers’ experience by placing all PEG content within a dedicated and accessible channel block in the 1300s”. This means that in the Larchmont and Mamaroneck areas, LMC Media will no longer be broadcast on channels 75, 76, and 77 on Cablevision/Optimum. Instead LMC will now be broadcast on 1300, 1305, and 1310. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause at such short notice but we were alerted to this only after the lineup was changed. This is something that has not only affected our access channels here but other Optimum users throughout Westchester, including Greenburgh and White Plains. Regardless we have sorted this all out and will continue to broadcast as normal on our new channels.”
