Watch as Mike Witsch hosts a roundtable discussion on Historic Preservation with Village of Larchmont Trustee, Malcolm Frouman and Chair of the Historic Preservation Task Force, Mauri Tamarin.

Monday night the Village of Larchmont held a public hearing during their monthly board meeting at the Larchmont Library Village Center. Nearly 100 Larchmont residence were in attendance to voice their concern on the zoning amendment regarding the proposed Centro project.

Watch the League of Women Voters 2019 Candidate Forum on LMCTV channel 75 Optimum, 36 Verizon.

The League of Women Voters of Larchmont-Mamaroneck will host a forum for candidates running in contested elections in the Village of Mamaroneck.

This forum will be held in the Mamaroneck Town Center Courtroom.

Mayoral Candidates (Party Endorsements):
Tom Murphy (Incumbent: Democrat, Working Family)
Norman Rosenblum (Conservative, Friendly Village)

Trustee Candidates
Stephanie Lividini (Conservative, Friendly Village)
Nora Lucas (Incumbent: Democrat, Working Family)
Nancy Wasserman (Conservative, Friendly Village)
Kelly Wenstrup (Incumbent: Democrat, Working Family)

There are no other local contested elections this November.

It’s election season once again and as always we at LMCTV aim to keep the community informed with our Meet the Candidates block of political programming. From now until Election Day we will be airing a number of Meet the Candidates specials from both parties running in the local election.

Below is the schedule of when each program will air. It will follow this schedule until October 15th at which point candidates will have the opportunity to air a second program.

In observation of National Coming Out Day, “The Local Live” presents a live discussion with parents who’ve dealt with this experience on Thursday, October 10 at 7:30 p.m. on LMCTV.

“Be afraid. Be very afraid.” From the very beginning, Hollywood movies have offered a frightening reflection of our deep fear of technology, its effects, and sinister implications. Time-traveling terminators, resurrected dinosaurs, alien invasions, and virtual prisons all give us a sense of just how terrified Hollywood writers, directors, and producers think we are (or should be).

In this class we will investigate popular, pivotal movies and discuss their fears, warnings, and possible solutions to this ever-increasing cultural technophobia. Discussion topics will include: “the mad scientist and you,” “ghosts in the machines,” “malfunctioning machinations,” “risks and rewards,” and “the power of human ingenuity.”

This month on Talking Technophobia Horror in Film, we take a break from Technophobia to turn our attention to the truly terrifying topic of family with Stanley Kubric’s horror masterpiece, The Shining. 
We will touch upon a different perspective of technology, the cycle of abuse, and the power of storytelling. 
Some themes will include the “duality and the role of mirrors” “psychology vs. supernatural,” and the power of the past.
