LMC Media’s Dena Schumacher and journalist Lou Young just won a national Hometown Media Award for their story about the Larchmont Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force. In the “Community Impact” category, which awards programs that generate community involvement, “Food Pantry – Food Distribution” took the top prize among access professionals announced June 30th at the annual Conference of the Alliance for Community Media.

Dena Schumacher is Assistant Director of LMC Media, and Lou Young is a retired broadcast journalist who volunteered to report on the Food Pantry’s weekend distribution at Mamaroneck’s Columbus Park. According to Malcolm Frouman, President of the Larchmont Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force, the story generated tens of thousands of dollars in donations and sparked volunteerism. In 2020, LMC Media was named “2020 Best Access Center” in their budget category in the northeast United States, and Executive Director Matt Sullivan was recognized as “Emerging Leader” among community media centers nation wide. Also last year, NY State Senator Shelly Mayer presented LMC Media with an Empire Award in recognition of its vital communication role during the COVID-19 pandemic.

F.E. Bellows 5th Grade Moving Up Ceremony
On June 16th F.E. Bellows Elementary School had their 5th Grade Moving Up Ceremony.
LMC Media has thousands of VHS tapes and media that need to be digitized. In partnership with the Mamaroneck and Larchmont Libraries and the Larchmont and Mamaroneck Historical Societies, we are looking for volunteers to help sort what should be preserved to Digitize our History.
Volunteers must have a strong knowledge and interest in Mamaroneck or Larchmont history, politics, art, social environment, noteworthy people, and events from the last 10-30 years.

MAMARONECK, New York (April 20, 2021) –LMC Media announces its Spring 2021 broadcast schedule: a 24-game slate of baseball, softball, and lacrosse being broadcast and streamed LIVE from Mamaroneck and Rye Neck High Schools.
LMC Varsity Sports will make use of LMC Media’s Mobile Production Van to televise all contests LIVE on Optimum 77/Fios 34 locally as well as on LMCMedia.org and on the LMC Varsity Sports Youtube channel: youtube.com/LMCVarsitySports
LMC Media will broadcast three games of the defending New York State Class A Semifinalist Mamaroneck Boys Lacrosse team, including a game against Lakeland/Panas on May 11. They will also face perennial contenders Rye and Bronxville in front of the LMC Media cameras (Check below for full schedule). Mamaroneck’s Girls Lacrosse team, a Section 1 Class A finalist in 2019, will be featured three times.
LMC Media will also cover three games of the Section 1 Class B Semifinalist Rye Neck Softball team, including a crosstown matchup against Mamaroneck (May 6) and a game the following day with rival Valhalla. Rye Neck’s Baseball team will be featured three times, including a Senior Day matchup against Port Chester (May 12).
The schedule includes three games with the defending Section 1 Class AA Semifinalist Mamaroneck Baseball team, against Horace Greeley (May 19) and White Plains (May 27), and league rival Scarsdale (June 1). LMC Varsity Sports will also be present for three Mamaroneck Softball games, including a tilt with rival Scarsdale (May 22).
Completing the schedule are 3 games each of Rye Neck Boys and Girls Lacrosse.
Fans can rewatch all games broadcasted by LMC Varsity Sports by utilizing the On-Demand feature on our website (www.LMCMEDIA.org), which also includes an up-to-date schedule, information on air dates and updated air-times for all televised games.
